She was the best girl there ever was, and ever will be. Scarlett, you were my one in a million - the dog that made all my dreams come true. You were so loved and are missed so very much. Our lives are not the same without you.

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.”- Dean Koontz

Scarlett had a very successful show career. She finished her Canadian Championship her first weekend out as a puppy - picking up three Best Puppy in Groups and a Best Puppy in Show win along the way. The next year she finished her Canadian Grand Championship in just a few weekends, picking up group placements along the way. In 2014, she was shown a total of four weekends and was consistently placing in and/or winning the Sporting Group. She was ranked as the #11 Golden in Canada and also earned her Show Dog Hall of Fame from the Golden Retriever Club of Canada.

Showing in the US, Scarlett also did very well. She won Best in Specialty Sweepstakes at the Badger GRC Specialty in March 2012. At the GRCA National in St. Louis that year she was 2nd place in her 15-18 month old Sweepstakes class. She finished her American Championship in limited showing, totally owner-handled, with three majors.

Scarlett also did well in obedience, rally, tracking and agility. She earned her Canadian CD in one weekend with a High In Trial. Her Rally Novice and Advanced titles were finished quickly at just over a year old. Her TD was earned at just over a year old and she went on to earn her UTD not long after that.

After taking most of the year off to be a mom, Scarlett returned to tracking in the fall of 2015 to earn her UTDX on the FIRST try! A month later she went on to earn her Rally Excellent title in one weekend.

2016 was a fantastic year for Scarlett! In January, she returned to the show ring and won Best In Specialty Show at the Greater Twin Cities Golden Retriever Club! In September, 2016 Scarlett was Best of Opposite at the Des Moies Golden Retriever Club secialty show. This finished her American Grand Champioship, only being shown 4 weekends as a special in the US! Back at home she earned her TDX in May, making her a Canadian Tracking Champion! She was also out showing in Canada on occasion and won a number of group placements and in June was honoured with a Best in Show win at the Thunder Bay Kennel and Training Club show under Judge Mark Houston-McMillan! This win qualified her for her Canadian Grand Champion Excellent title. The same day, her daughter Amelia also went Best in Show to finish her Canadian Championship!!

Scarlett came out of retirement in 2019 and won a Best Veteran in Show at the Lakehead Kennel Club show in May. In September, at the Des Moines Golden Retriever Club Specialty Shows, she won Best Veteran in Sweepstakes, two Best Veteran in Specialties and Select Bitch from the Veteran class!
